Make Over You in 2012

I really can not believe that this year has gone by so fast.  I guess there is a lot of truth to our parents telling us that time goes by faster as you get older. Tonight I am at home with my son as I am most New Year’s Eve’s cooking and watching  Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rocking Eve. I never was one for going out for New Year’s, even in my younger years.  Of course this day makes us think of what we did in the year that we are saying good bye to and what we want accomplish in the upcoming year.  In many years past I, as have many others, made resolutions for the new year.  Our resolutions usually consist of things like losing weight, quitting smoking, eating healthier, etc.  Normally however, after about a month or so, all of those things are forgotten about.  We try…yes we do…but are we just setting ourselves up for disappointment?

Why start off the new year with goals that might be lofty or those that you really have not set your mind to yet. Why not take this time of new beginnings to think about things that are not necessarily those that just benefit you.  There are a few unselfish things that I have thought about that need improvement in my life.  I share in hopes that it will make others think about what needs improvement in theirs too. » Read more..
