2012 Olympics – My Top 10 Favorite Moments [PHOTOS]

I must say that I really enjoyed watching the Olympics this year and I am sad that it has come to an end.  History was made, records were broken and some dreams were shattered.  All in all, things went very well for Team USA who lead in the overall medal count ending with a total of 104 medals.  That consisted of 49 gold, 29 silver and 29 bronze.  Coming in a distant second was China with a total of 87 medals.

The past two weeks, I have been glued to my screen watching much of the Olympic activity.  Who was going to rise to the top and who was going to crack under the pressure. Winning a medal, especially a gold medal, is something most of these athletes spend four years training for.  In my opinion, there were so many great moments of the 2012 London Olympic Games. The gold medals won by the US men’s and women’s basketball teams, Venus and Serena Williams and Aries Merritt in the 110 meter hurdles just to name a few. The following however, are my top 10 favorite moments of the Olympic games.

It was so wonderful to watch Gabrielle “Gabby Douglas make history tonight!  Her strength and determination led her to winning the women’s all-around gold medal.
